Gatehouse joins global Commitment to Financial Health

We are proud to be a founding signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Banking’s (UNPRB) Commitment to Financial Health and Inclusion, launched today, the 2nd December 2021.

The commitment is “a first-of-its-kind accelerator initiative” of the banking sector to promote universal financial inclusion and health. 27 other UN PRB signatory banks, alongside Gatehouse, have joined the leadership group by signing the commitment.

Gatehouse Bank has committed to setting targets that drive improvements and innovation to help our customers and communities to access appropriate financial products for them, build their knowledge of key financial topics, and feel in control of their finances.

As a Shariah-compliant British Bank, we believe in a financial system that is fair for everyone. Our business and operations are conducted in a manner that calls for fair dealing and our products are transparent, fair, and socially responsible. By joining this coalition of global banks we’re working to support and grow a banking system that fosters financial well-being in our society.

Islamic Finance principles underpin our operations and work to support the financial health of our customers; for instance through sharing risk and reward in an equitable way and by ensuring we honestly represent the long-term value of our products to our customers.

By becoming a signatory to the UNPRB Commitment to Financial Health and Inclusion we are joining a collective journey to accelerate action on financial health and inclusion, alongside our focus on other key issues like climate action.

"At Gatehouse Bank we believe in a financial system that is fair for everyone. As a Shariah-compliant British Bank, we follow a set of Islamic finance principles that ensure fair play and that our customers’ financial affairs are handled responsibly. As a founding signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Banking, we’re proud to join this new global commitment to financial health and inclusion and we look forward to harnessing our products and services to improve the Bank’s impact on the financial well-being of our customers and communities." - Charles Haresnape, CEO at Gatehouse Bank
