Job Summary

The Talent Development Manager has responsibility for the management of the end to end training activities within the Bank, liaising with core employees and Board members concerning identified and ongoing training needs. This activity forms part of our over-arching Training and Competence framework with a focus on succession planning, hard and soft skills, management development and technical skills which may be required for specialised departments. The position reports directly into the Head of HR with commentary into the Remuneration and Nominations Committee.

We offer personal and corporate savings products and finance for UK residential and commercial property, in addition to sourcing and advising on UK real estate investments.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with key senior stakeholders to define, develop and implement development strategies that are aligned to the business strategy and objectives, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, and continued professional development
  • Work with Board and ExCo members to ensure on going delivery of personal development plans
  • Plan, manage, monitor, and report on technical capability development programmes (Underwriters, Direct Advisors) to ensure successful delivery
  • Develop and deliver implementation plans to ensure skills are assessed, measured, developed, and transferred in line with current and future business objectives
  • Provide coaching, advice and guidance on technical specialists and hard and soft skills to support and business teams and leaders
  • Keep up to date with developments in the mortgage industry, external marketplace, and legislative/regulatory changes to proactively inform talent development
  • Manage relationships across the business and seek resolution to competing priorities
  • Identify, manage, and monitor mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of talent development processes
  • Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training
