Job Summary

The role will promote and protect the Bank’s reputation across all stakeholders. The individual will build creative, newsworthy thought leadership campaigns to further build and develop the reputation of Gatehouse Bank amongst stakeholders and influencers.

Founded in 2007, we are a challenger bank that operates in accordance with Shariah principles, with offices in London, Milton Keynes and Wilmslow. We offer personal and corporate savings products and finance for UK residential property, in addition to sourcing and advising on UK real estate investments.

Key responsibilities

  • Planning and implementing the Bank’s PR strategy and activities – through media engagement (briefings, releases, editorial, events) to increase awareness of the Bank and our products and services, within agreed budgets and timescales
  • Assist the Head of Communications with managing the Bank’s PR Agency – maintain regular meetings regarding progress of PR success
  • Providing regular reporting on PR activities, achievements, including progress against objectives, budget and stakeholder engagement
  • Identify and develop thought leadership opportunities, creating joined up communications campaigns, collaborating with other members of the wider Customer team to activate joined-up, multi-channel content
  • Maintain and develop existing and new media relationships whilst managing and responding appropriately to any media enquiries
  • Creating and managing coverage, leveraging coverage through the Bank’s social media channels
  • Creating engaging content for the Bank’s social media channels
  • Develop internal spokespeople profiles and provide coaching/media training
  • Protecting - Manage and maintain the compliance requirements across all areas of responsibility, ensuring full knowledge and training of requirements
  • Managing and responding appropriately to any media, social media or internal enquiry
  • Work with the CSR Lead to Help drive the Bank’s CSR/ESG strategy and integrate sustainability into all areas of the business

Skills required

  • Experience of managing PR campaigns in financial services
  • Experience of producing and implementing award-winning PR plans
  • Ability to identify and promote the value of PR through reports and presentations
  • Commercial insight and a strategic thinker
  • Ability to build credible relationships quickly and with integrity – with both external and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and written
  • Experience of managing external agencies and partnerships
